About the role
- Underwriting Assistant supporting Hamilton's Casualty Insurance portfolio. Perform administrative tasks and collaborate with underwriting and operations teams in Bermuda.
Responsibilities
- Provide underwriting administrative support associated with the lifecycle of a submission, including data entry, data downloads, file preparation and document management
- Conduct contract reviews and analysis of data in our underwriting system and other relevant business systems
- Liaise with underwriting and operations teams to ensure data is processed timely, accurately and in accordance with compliance rules
- Ensure department meets financial reporting and system deadlines
- Ensure timely logging and accuracy of all underwriting data within the underwriting and other relevant business systems
- Prepare documentation to support Underwriters
- Assist in administration and management reporting of portfolios
- Contribute to system testing, ad hoc projects and research work
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role; preferably within Casualty Insurance
- Experience with Salesforce or similar deal management system
- Strong work ethic with superior organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Ability to work independently within a small team, with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
