About the role

  • Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, oversee the administration of design and construction of capital infrastructure projects
  • Provide leadership in administering design and construction projects
  • Liaise with consultants/contractors, monitor project scope, quality, and budget
  • Administer design and construction activities ensuring compliance with City and Provincial guidelines
  • Maintain control and monitoring to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget
  • Provide technical direction to subordinate staff
  • Liaise with various stakeholders including elected officials and management

Requirements

  • Degree in civil engineering or engineering technologist diploma
  • Extensive knowledge with project management theories
  • Experience managing large multi-discipline water/wastewater design and construction projects
  • Knowledge of Municipal Water/Wastewater vertical infrastructure design and construction
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Membership with Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) or Certified Engineering Technologist preferred
  • Ability to prepare/coordinate engineering proposals and construction contract documents
  • Valid Class 'G' Driver's Licence
