About the role
- Actuarial Assistant managing financial and non-financial analysis for Guardian. Participating in departmental rotations while supporting growth and product understanding.
Responsibilities
- Develop a thorough understanding of Guardian’s products and job responsibilities
- Assist in performing financial and non-financial analysis and make recommendations
- Support departmental rotation every 18 to 24 months
- Identify areas of improvement regarding procedural and/or technical aspects of projects
- Complete assignments on time and according to specifications provided by your supervisor
- Strive towards completion of assignments independently, recognizing when managerial guidance is needed
- Actively seek and take on additional challenges to grow professionally
- Use internal and external data sources to understand industry trends, clients, competitors, and regulatory environment
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Proficient in Excel
- Some experience modeling in AXIS is a plus
- Understanding of the interaction between assets and liabilities in actuarial models would be advantageous
- VBA and other programming knowledge a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects
