Assistente Jurídico representing Grupo Simões in legal matters. Supporting the defense of lawsuits and administrative processes.
Responsibilities
Represent the companies of Grupo Simões in court and before other public bodies, seeking to defend the company’s interests and contributing to successful outcomes in administrative and judicial proceedings;
Assist in preparing defenses for claims and other types of judicial/administrative actions, requesting and supporting internal areas in gathering documents, information for defense, and clarifications regarding claims/actions;
Schedule and attend meetings between the involved areas and the external law firm to clarify facts;
Receive court representatives and administrative bodies to accept notifications and various documents;
Support expert examinations by providing requested documentation, supplying information and reporting results to the attorneys and the Legal Department coordinator;
Contribute to the department’s defined performance indicators (KPIs);
Prepare department reports related to the number of active cases, filed actions, contingencies, and others;
Schedule payments of department-related expenses such as attorney fees, court costs, expert fees and assistant expert fees, among others;
Conduct diligences at notary offices, public agencies, courts, post office, and other institutions;
Renew powers of attorney;
Actively participate in departmental audits;
Actively participate in preparing the department’s annual budget;
Organize the department’s documentation in our electronic directory;
Provide information to the Accounting Department regarding the use of judicial deposits, requesting write-offs and updates to accounting entries when applicable.
Requirements
Currently pursuing a university degree in Law (law student);
Previous experience in the legal field is a plus but not required for entry-level candidates;
Ability to organize tasks, prioritize activities and meet deadlines;
Clear and objective communication skills, both written and verbal;
Ability to identify errors and inconsistencies in legal documents;
Initiative to find solutions and optimize processes;
Familiarity with legal software and tools;
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
