About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage large data sets from multiple sources, ensuring data is consistently processed and loaded into systems
  • Monitor the quality and accuracy of data, performing validation checks regularly
  • Track changes in retailer price and promotion policies, ensuring data reflects the latest updates
  • Resolve data queries and implement process improvements to enhance data management
  • Lead the automation of processes and continuously refine data handling workflows
  • Analyse data sets to support business insights and facilitate understanding of trends and key metrics
  • Collaborate with data providers and internal teams at the grocery retailer to enhance services and identify areas requiring additional data collection
  • Conduct ad-hoc data analysis as needed
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure smooth data operations

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of working with large datasets
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; a desire to develop skills in SQL and Python
  • Familiarity with the grocery retail sector, including major retailers, product categories, and market trends
  • Ability to identify key trends in data and present findings clearly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail in spelling and grammar
  • Capable of managing multiple projects, delivering on deadlines, and adapting to shifting priorities
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a 'can-do' attitude towards challenges
  • Experience working with third-party suppliers and internal teams, with a flexible approach to meeting their needs
  • Highly self-motivated, organized, and able to manage time effectively
