About the role

  • Senior Mine Planning Engineer responsible for project planning and evaluation within open-pit mining operations at Gold Fields. Delivering design, scheduling, and mentoring engineers at St Ives.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the business can make informed decisions by identifying, planning, and communicating extraction strategies, critical path, and high-risk areas as part of an iterative scenario planning process.
  • Create, support, and manage short to medium term mine design, scheduling and evaluation work, including design of all aspects of an open pit mine.
  • Coach and mentor engineers to add further value to the team

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering
  • An unrestricted Quarry Managers Certificate of Competency is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing/leading a team in a collaborative manner
  • Extensive open pit mining experience in production, projects, mine design, planning and scheduling.
