About the role
- Senior Mine Planning Engineer responsible for project planning and evaluation within open-pit mining operations at Gold Fields. Delivering design, scheduling, and mentoring engineers at St Ives.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the business can make informed decisions by identifying, planning, and communicating extraction strategies, critical path, and high-risk areas as part of an iterative scenario planning process.
- Create, support, and manage short to medium term mine design, scheduling and evaluation work, including design of all aspects of an open pit mine.
- Coach and mentor engineers to add further value to the team

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering
- An unrestricted Quarry Managers Certificate of Competency is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in managing/leading a team in a collaborative manner
- Extensive open pit mining experience in production, projects, mine design, planning and scheduling.
