About the role
- Network Engineer managing GMO’s global network operations and architecture. Working on Cisco networking, Microsoft voice implementations, and Azure Cloud Networking in Boston, MA.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the global enterprise network including wide area and local area networks as well as IP convergence.
- Maintain our Azure cloud networking environments which include: VNET creation & peering, VPN/ExpressRoute Gateways, and Express Route Circuit implementation and support
- Install and maintain routers and switches in various network configurations supporting VLANs, Qos, VoIP, and advanced access-lists.
- Monitor and evaluate the network, make recommendations, and deploy solutions to enhance network performance
- Ensure that network issues arising on a day-to-day operation are identified, reported, and resolved in a timely manner.
- Monitor and maintain the global voice systems including; Cisco voice router management ( CUBE/SBC )
- Microsoft Teams Calling Environment via Direct Routing
- SIP Connectivity via Masergy and OneStream
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager v14.x, Unity Connection v14.x
Requirements
- Experience with switching and routing in wide and local area networks
- Experience supporting enterprise wide and local area networks
- Azure Cloud Networking Experience
- Cisco Voice Router (CUBE/SBC) experience
- Management of SIP Connectivity
- Microsoft Teams Calling with Direct Routing experience is vital
- Cisco Unified Communications Deployment & Support experience is vital
- Expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP), Layer 1 connectivity via multiple medias, and network management concepts
- Dedication to neat and effective cable management
- Solid knowledge of BGP and EIGRP routing protocols and WAN connectivity options
- Excellence in testing and documentation of procedures
- Experience in implementing and monitoring network event logging and analysis
- Experience with packet capture and interpretation (Wireshark)
- Experience in Configuration & Change Management processes
- Advanced level networking certifications such as CCVP/CCNP (Cisco) –helpful
