About the role

  • Director, Technical Services managing mine planning and production data at G Mining Ventures. Reporting to the VP of Geology, ensuring accuracy in operations planning and continuous improvements in processes.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the Vice President of Geology, manage mine planning and production data from the mine operation(s) in support of the execution of the corporate operations planning process.
  • Manage the analysis of submitted periodic mine planning physicals, encompassing the budget, quarterly forecasts, and monthly estimates.
  • Play a key role in the delivery of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
  • Ensure line of sight of the Mine Production Forecast against the Life of Mine (LOM) plan.
  • Develop Ad Hoc planning scenarios based on requests from the management or other stakeholders in the Corporation.
  • Supervise the Mineral Resource/Mineral Reserve update bi-annually to ensure best practices in the process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, Geology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a technical leadership role within the mining industry, with a focus on gold mining operations.
  • 15+ years of industry experience, preferably in both open pit and underground operations
  • Experience in building and working with planning scenario models and systems and adapting and developing such as business drivers change.
  • Strong mine planning and analysis background 5 – 10 years of experience in Mine Planning
  • Skilled at organizing and simplifying mine planning information to inform decision-making.
  • Working knowledge of mine operations accounting (production, revenue, operating cost structure, reserves and resources, and capital expenditures).
  • Demonstrated skills in designing and improving work systems to eliminate waste and increase productivity.
  • Excellent leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of professionals.
