About the role
- Director of Technical Services managing mining planning and production data for G Mining Ventures. Supporting performance analysis and continuous improvement initiatives within the corporate technical services team.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Vice President, Geology & Resources, the Director of Technical Services is responsible for managing mine planning and production data from mining operations.
- Manage the analysis of periodic mine planning data submissions, including the budget, quarterly forecasts, and monthly estimates.
- Play a key role in the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
- Support the development of a governance framework for the rolling 24-month mining production forecasting routine.
- Ensure alignment of mining production forecasts with the Life of Mine (LOM) plan.
- Develop ad hoc planning scenarios in response to requests from management or other corporate stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, geology, or a related field; a graduate degree is an asset.
- More than 15 years of experience in the industry.
- Demonstrated experience in a technical leadership role within the mining industry, with a focus on gold operations.
- Strong experience in mine planning and mining analysis.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in mine planning.
- Experience designing and using planning models and scenario systems, and adapting and developing them as business drivers evolve.
- Ability to organize and distill mine planning information to support decision-making.
- Working knowledge of mining operations accounting (production, revenues, operating cost structure, reserves and resources, capital expenditures).
- Proven skills in designing and improving work systems to eliminate waste and increase productivity.
- Excellent leadership and team-development skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of professionals.
