Tire Modeling and Vehicle Dynamics Simulation Engineer focuses on tire modeling and simulation to enhance vehicle dynamics at GM. Develops and integrates virtual tools and simulation packages for vehicle performance optimization.
Responsibilities
The Tire Modeling and Vehicle Dynamics Simulation Engineer leads the design and development of components and subsystems that critically impact vehicle dynamics performance and structural loads with a heavy focus on tire modeling and simulation.
Develop, test, roll out industry leading tire modeling techniques to drive future OE tire and virtual vehicle design, development and validation for Ride, Handling, Steering and Loads.
Collaborate to optimize testing, modeling and implementation across GM’s virtual domains.
Continuously improve the fidelity of chassis subsystems and full vehicle models.
Promote GM values and make customer-focused decisions.
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Math or Science or closely related field of study
5 or more years of relevant experience focused on tires in the automotive, aircraft, construction, or related industries
Experience applying computational methods to solve engineering problems
Proficient in using scripting languages such as MATLAB or Python to automate and analyze simulations
Demonstrated ability to work in teams, balancing technical theory with practical limitations
Strong oral and written communication skills
Demonstrate creative and independent thinking.
