Engineering Group Manager position at GM, overseeing a team for Virtual Cloud Platform tools development. Focusing on automation and infrastructure application software development.
Responsibilities
Lead a multi-disciplinary team across software, systems, cloud infrastructure, and IT to develop and operate the industry-leading SOLE virtual test and calibration platform.
Act as the Product Directly Responsible Individual (DRI), ensuring alignment with IT strategy and enterprise technical requirements.
Oversee Technical Architecture Diagram (TAD) approvals, track cloud expenditures, and project scalability needs to meet business demands.
Partner with MSP and VMEC teams to define developer requirements and drive the development of virtualization capabilities for infrastructure and application software testing.
Collaborate with IT, Infrastructure, and cloud service providers to ensure 24/7 platform availability and adherence to security best practices.
Manage strategic supplier relationships, including SOWs and Enterprise License Agreements.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant engineering discipline.
10+ years of experience in a relevant field.
Proven experience with on-premises-to-cloud and cloud-to-cloud migration projects.
Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining complex applications in cloud environments.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Java (Quarkus), or SystemC.
Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
Strong understanding of cloud cybersecurity standards and industry best practices.
Expertise in designing and maintaining Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
Demonstrated success in leading complex projects through high levels of ambiguity to completion.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
