Responsibilities
Create T-SQL scripts for report extraction and routine automation. Knowledge of relational modeling and extract, transform and load (ETL) processes;
Support developers with access, user management, diagrams, programmable objects and bulk data manipulation for testing and acceptance;
Define tables, indexes, views, constraints, triggers, stored procedures, storage parameters or tablespaces and other database-specific constructs required to store, retrieve and delete persistent objects;
Develop and maintain the corporate data model (CDM), data integration architecture, data taxonomy, and data and metadata standards;
Define and maintain Golden Records, hierarchies, master and reference data; understand, develop and maintain metadata;
Design, implement and maintain solutions that meet the company’s data needs. Includes data-focused activities within the system development lifecycle, such as data modeling, data requirements analysis and design, deployment and database maintenance;
Monitor and tune database performance: perform proactive (preventive) and reactive (post-incident) monitoring. This involves managing user response time performance from a variety of root causes (SQL coding issues, problematic commands, poor database design, missing proper indexes, outdated statistics used by the query optimizer, etc.);
Administration and management of local and remote databases;
Automate routines using Shell Script;
Configure environments to optimize performance;
Build database architectures for high availability (clustering) based on technology best practices;
Build architectures for bulk data transfer;
Define and execute data loading and extraction routines;
Develop and maintain procedures for querying, capturing, updating and storing data;
Requirements
Experience in:
Data manipulation (DML) and definition (DDL) activities: defining tables, indexes, views, constraints, triggers, stored procedures, storage parameters or tablespaces and other database-specific constructs required to store, retrieve and delete persistent objects;
Monitoring and tuning database performance: proactive (preventive) and reactive (post-incident) monitoring. Involves managing user response time performance resulting from various root causes (SQL coding issues, problematic commands, poor database design, missing proper indexes, outdated statistics used by the query optimizer, etc.);
Configuration, implementation, monitoring, tuning and data auditing;
Troubleshooting and incident resolution, including root cause analysis for database-related issues.
