About the role

  • Document Translator processing sensitive immigration-related materials with accuracy in USCIS contracts. Collaborating with QA staff and maintaining confidentiality in hybrid work setup.

Responsibilities

  • Translate official USCIS documents (immigration records, forms, evidence submissions) with 100% accuracy
  • Maintain terminology consistency in line with USCIS glossaries and standards
  • Proofread and review translations for clarity, grammar, and completeness
  • Handle urgent and high-volume assignments while meeting deadlines
  • Collaborate with quality assurance (QA) staff to ensure compliance with ISO 17100 standards
  • Adhere to USCIS protocols regarding confidentiality, privacy, and data security
  • Support expedited requests when needed (24–48 hours turnaround)

Requirements

  • Fluency in English and at least one target language (priority: Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin, Russian, Haitian Creole; rare languages highly valued)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, or related field
  • 2+ years of professional translation experience (government, legal, or immigration sector preferred)
  • ATA certification or equivalent credentials strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with CAT tools and secure translation platforms
  • Must be able to pass a Tier 3 or Tier 5 federal background investigation
  • U.S. Citizenship or permanent residency required
