VDC Engineer II performing constructability and coordination tasks at Gilbane. Working on projects using technology and processes in the office and job sites.
Responsibilities
Completes the quality checks and execution of day-to-day VDC project deliverables and processes
Communicates with internal and external project teams; facilitates meetings to resolve project issues, review schedules, or other project documentation
Assigns responsible party(s) for issue resolution; verifies and documents with meeting minutes, submittals, RFIs, and updated models
Utilizes 3D design software to identify, communicate, and resolve project challenges
Utilizes Reality Capture technology, such as laser scanning and drones, to support project deliverables
Combines all building discipline models into coordination model
Reviews the coordination model for constructability issues utilizing the software’s clash detection capabilities
Participates in Business Unit (BU) office and department activities including the orientation program, training sessions, and peer group meetings
Supports 1-3 VDC deliverables under supervision
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Building Information Modeling (BIM) or related field
1-3 years of VDC Coordination experience
Strong problem-solving skills
Strong time-management and analytical skills
Strong knowledge and proficiency with BIM design software (Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, In-design)
Basic understanding of construction documentation
Knowledge of construction systems
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
