Senior Controls Engineer optimizing manufacturing processes and ensuring system reliability at Polaris facilities. Reporting to the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team across multiple locations in the US.
Responsibilities
Develop standards and machine specifications for new equipment used in the manufacturing process
Develop and maintain required documentation to support controls applications used in the manufacturing process, including operation and maintenance as part of controls team
Lead projects to deploy and improve manufacturing equipment
Oversee installation of control systems on new and/or existing equipment
Program changes that are required to maintain and improve the manufacturing process
Integrate control systems with MES systems to maintain product quality
Analyze and recommend improvement to manufacturing processes, which will benefit from automation techniques
Train production and maintenance personnel in control operations, maintenance and programming functions
Assist tooling department in the development and design of new tooling used in the manufacturing process
Assist controls engineering supervisor and manufacturing team with the development, justification, and execution of long range plans to meet corporate objectives
Prepare and present detailed technical reports, documentation, and presentations for global stakeholders
Maintain compliance with company policies, quality standards, safety standards and OSHA compliance
Requirements
BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
5+ years directly related experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
Proficiency with MS Office
Excellent mechanical aptitude and mechanic skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience with: Allen Bradley PLCs
Specifically ControlLogix and MicroLogix
Allen Bradley Panelview plus HMIs
Allen Bradley VFDs
Troubleshooting and commissioning fieldbus networks (Ethernet/IP and DeviceNet)
