About the role
- Lead Engineer overseeing planning and execution of subsystem work for wind turbine programs. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success from conception to product sunset.
Responsibilities
- Own the planning and execution of subsystem work portfolio including subsystem deliverables, budget, resource identification, and priority discussions for New Product Introduction programs from conception through product sunset
- Own subsystem NPI schedule structure and fidelity
- Coordinate execution of deliverables and detailed schedule dependencies with Systems Program Managers and Subsystem Integrators to align plans and escalate visibility to critical path activities
- Assure timely resolution of issues, keep the stakeholders advised of the progress of the program, and negotiate changes, variations, solutions to issues
- Lead multiple programs in parallel from conception through field validation
- Explain difficult or sensitive information; work to build consensus
- Use the latest tools and methods to facilitate world class operational rigor for the team
- Drive simplification and standardization of best practices into program execution
- Manage cross-platform programs for the Machine Head subsystem
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university or similar
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Program Management, Renewable Energy Engineering or related fields
- Ability to break-down complex issues, determine possible courses of action, and enable effective decision making
- Ability to prioritize information, using analytical thinking for decision making
- Technical aptitude and familiarity with industrial-scale projects or products
- System or product-level mindset
- Effective oral and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Established project management skills
- In-depth knowledge of GE Vernova internal standards for product development
