About the role
- Finance Data Specialist at GEICO managing the build out of a Finance Data Warehouse. Collaborating with Finance and Technology teams to redefine technology management in Finance operations.
Responsibilities
- Leverage strong Functional and Technical systems expertise to drive towards the right solution
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle
- Support design sessions to ensure systems are well designed and meet Business expectations
- Collaborate with Finance Leaders and technology leaders to meet organizational goals
- Establish a vision and technology roadmap for the Finance Data Lake/Warehouse
- Understand finance data lake/mart with Data processing/data transformation using ETL/ELT tools
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain solutions for data ingestion and transformation projects
- Work with cloud data solutions for analytics and support roadmap development for solutions
- Influence customers and stakeholders, and manage divergent expectations
- Maintain a strong control and governance framework for SOX and Audit reviews
- Share best practices and improve processes within and across teams
Requirements
- 15+ years of Finance Systems experience with industry leading ERP solutions
- 3+ years of experience in implementing and supporting FP&A applications (Preferred)
- 3+ years working with or supporting a Finance Data Lake/Warehouse/Mart along with various Financial Reporting tools
- Good understanding of Dimensional Data Modeling
- Strong working knowledge of Data processing/data transformation using ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica, DBT, etc.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and the ability to write, debug and optimize SQL queries and ETL jobs
- Experience working with Financials via the major vendors (e.g. PeopleSoft; Oracle EBS; Oracle Cloud; Workday; or SAP)
- Finance domain expertise to interpret process and functional needs into system solutions
- Good understanding of FP&A Budgeting, Planning, and forecasting processes
- Experience in implementing or supporting Revenue or Expense analytical solutions via tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.
- Good understanding of accounting process and reporting expectations to partner with Finance teams
- Ability to communicate and work directly with users across Technology and Finance
- Sound understanding of project management techniques, methodologies, and best practices
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge and experience with the software development life cycle
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment
