About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement IEC 61850 communication solutions compliant with emerging standards and Technical Reports, including Secure MMS and Secure GOOSE using the SISCO stack.
  • Collaborate with international, cross-functional teams on development, testing, and deployment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex IEC 61850 secure communication issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for protocol implementation designs, configurations, test plans, and operational procedures.
  • Conduct functional, design, and code reviews.
  • Estimate and validate workload and automate unit testing processes to improve efficiency and code coverage.
  • Maintain continuous monitoring of emerging technologies and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Expert-level C/C++ development for cross-platform applications.
  • Deep knowledge and experience with IEC 61850 Editions 1.0, 2.0, and 2.1.
  • Optional: Knowledge of IEC 62351 standards, particularly parts 4, 6, and 9, which are critical for secure communication.
  • Extensive hands-on experience implementing various IEC 61850 features using the SISCO MMS Lite / IEC 61850 Plus protocol stack on embedded devices.
  • Practical knowledge of Python for automation and scripting.
  • Strong experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with microservices architecture, containerization (Docker), and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Expertise in embedded systems development, including real-time programming.
  • Proficiency with version control and CI/CD: Git, Jenkins, Conan, Artifactory.
  • Strong prioritization skills, quality orientation, and a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • French and English: read, spoken, and written.
  • Desired knowledge of network protocols and communication systems.
  • Desired knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems.
  • Desired knowledge of protection and control principles for electrical systems.
  • Desired knowledge of SAFe Agile methodologies and practices.
