Protection Test Engineer responsible for configuration and testing of Protection relays for GE Vernova's Grid Solutions business. Requires strong knowledge of protection functions and relay configuration.
Responsibilities
Configuration of protection relays
Validation and factory acceptance test (FAT) of Protection systems
Support site activities when required
Seek resolutions on hardware, Software, or performance related protection/design issues
Manage Fault reports for resolution
Provide weekly time sheets and monthly reports
Communicate Project schedule progress and report quality issues
Maintain strong safety mindset
Warn project manager of any budget deviation forecast
Abide by all GE Corporate and local policies
Work in a safe manner and ensure appropriate training is taken
Report any accidents or injuries while on the job
Oversee cubicle safety & good housekeeping practices
Requirements
Over 4 years’ experience in substations ranging from 11kV to 400kV
Strong knowledge of protection functions, Electrical Scheme, and cubicle design
Strong working knowledge of relays configuration and testing
Ability to travel to customer sites
Knowledge on Power & Protection Systems
Experience with electrical Protection relays (LV, MV & HV), detailed design is essential for the job
Strong technical skills on Programming and testing Protection Relays.
Ability to perform Functional testing of Protection panels
Experience in Factory Acceptance Testing of protection schemes
Experience on performing testing including but not limited to checking protection functions via secondary injections, GOOSE testing, signal testing with SCADA on IEC61850
Candidates with proven knowledge of GE protection relays and Substation automation solutions are preferred.
