About the role
- Power Segment Operations Finance Reporting Analyst responsible for deploying global standards in finance reporting. Collaborating across Hydro, Nuclear, and other business lines in the Power Segment.
Responsibilities
- Help design proposal for Global Standards, Reporting mechanism & Tools for the Power Operations Finance team across HDGT, Aero, Steam, Hydro and Nuclear business lines
- Lead & develop processes to simplify and create world class standard processes & policies across multiple ERPs – including reports and tools.
- Translate concepts, develop strategy, implement change, create programs responsive to external environment, and participate in cross-functional business and cultural development.
- Oversee all financial reporting of actuals of project accounting for Power Segment on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Establish process to ensure legal entity financial quality (i.e., documentation for regulatory purposes, cash tax impact implications, etc.)
- Ensure financials of projects are in line with GAAP (e.g., revenue recognition, journal entries, etc.) and compliant with statutory regulations & global accounting policies.
- Lead Monthly and Quarterly Closing activities for Operations Finance organization and facilitate reporting of results by country/region/pole & Business Line
- Develop Analytical Reporting packs for consumption of regional and business line leader including VOP and VPY analysis
- Drive a spirit & letter of excellence in Controllership (e.g., adherence to GE policies, transfer of best practices, internal controls, etc.).
- Champion LEAN culture, lead transformation efforts in alignment with broader finance strategy, guide continuous improvement of processes, & prioritize automation opportunities.
- Identify, recruit, grow, and retain talent with appropriate levels of expertise to deliver on the daily management and/or transformational priorities of the organization.
- Foster strong partnership with and maintain accountability for execution performed by third party vendors on behalf of the Services Operations Finance organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college in Accounting, Finance or relevant discipline (this is a must in Hungary) or equivalent knowledge or experience
- Major experience in finance or operations function in progressively larger positions of responsibility
- Demonstrated finance leadership experience
- Fluent English knowledge is essential
- CSA, TX, MMP, & Upgrades accounting experience preferred
- Certified Public Accountant/Chartered Accountant preferred
- Direct or indirect leadership of global teams
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize under pressure
- Strategic thinker with the ability to create and execute concrete action plans
- Demonstrated adaptability/flexibility: open to change in response to new information , different or unexpected circumstances, and/or ability to operate in ambiguous situations
- Ability to partner with horizontal teams like Pole/ITR Finances, Fulfillment, Operations
