About the role
- Lead Infrastructure Engineer enabling digital transformation of utility operations at GE Vernova. Design and implement cost-effective, secure infrastructure automation solutions for enterprise IT.
Responsibilities
- The lead Infrastructure Engineer is an integral part of the Grid Solutions Service Delivery Team responsible for enabling the digital transformation of utility operations
- design reusable, cost effective, secure infrastructure automation that delivers targeted customer outcomes based on a range of GE software products and technologies
- work closely with service delivery architects and develop repeatable code that delivers just-in-time infrastructure resources under using a scalable architecture framework
- Design, develop and document automation that provisions enterprise IT infrastructure solutions based on common reusable code scaffolding
- Build automation code frameworks that provisions and deploys enterprise infrastructure as outlined by infrastructure architects
- Design reusable automation processes that delivers and manages enterprise IT assets
- Work with infrastructure architects to develop reusable hybrid infrastructure designs in the Cloud & On-premises for repeatable deployments across customers
- Implements standard CI/CD delivery automation that simplifies and accelerates project execution
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- At least four (4) years’ experience in an enterprise IT organization that includes infrastructure engineering
- Certifications in AWS
- Certification in Azure strongly preferred
- Strong level of experience working with scripting languages: Windows PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, YAML
- Experience with automating in cloud hosting platforms: AWS, Azure, Windows
- Experience with server OS technologies: Linux & Windows
- Experience using automation development platforms: Ansible Automation Platform (Tower), AWX, Jenkins
