About the role
- Junior Microsoft SQL Server Engineer responsible for Cisco network configuration and Windows Server management. Supporting FEMA’s Office of National Continuity Programs in Bluemont, VA.
Responsibilities
- Manage configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Cisco networking equipment
- Maintain Cisco enterprise and distribution switches
- Plan, implement, and manage Windows Server 2019 infrastructure
- Perform Active Directory Domain Services tasks
- Maintain VMware environment
- Configure and monitor security management servers
- Utilize SolarWinds and Splunk for monitoring
- Maintain technical documentation for configurations
Requirements
- 4+ years of related experience
- Strong understanding of IP routing and switching fundamentals
- Working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2019, and Windows active directory
- Experience in administrating VMware ESXi hosts and managing virtual machines
- Understanding of core network protocols for troubleshooting
- Fundamental understanding of cyber security principles
- Working knowledge of implementing security technical implementation guidance (STIG) and conducting security content automation protocol (SCAP) compliance audits
- Adept at utilizing Nessus or other vulnerability scanning tools
- Strong in performing technical troubleshooting using TCP/IP networking
- Knowledge of technical writing/documentation standards
