About the role
- Senior Mechanical Engineer designing mechanical systems for mission critical projects at GBA. Collaborating with architects and engineers to deliver innovative design solutions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Project Architects, Engineers and Construction Managers to provide innovative design solutions to projects during all phases of design
- Interface with clients, owners and contractors
- Design air-side mechanical systems, including DX and chilled water AHUs, ductwork sizing, and computer room air-handling units.
- Design water-side mechanical systems, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and piping
- Provide HVAC load calculations
- Responsible for project phasing plans including temporary measures to maintain services in our clients' live facilities
- Facilitate facility evaluations, engineering studies, and troubleshooting
- Train, coach and mentor less experienced staff
Requirements
- BS in Architectural Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Must be a Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer in at least one state.
- At least 10 years of related experience with at least 2 years of data center mechanical design experience.
- AutoCAD, Revit and BIM360 experience a plus, but not required
- Organizational skills with attention to detail
- Interest in working in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to perform site walks in active facilities, including navigating mechanical rooms, rooftops, ladders, and equipment areas.
- Capability to travel between job sites and client facilities as needed.
