About the role

  • Project Accountant managing project setup and invoicing for AEC firm. Overseeing contract reviews and revenue recognition with training responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up projects in the accounting system
  • Review and maintain project-related documents, including contracts and amendments
  • Revenue recognition and reviewing and approving timesheets
  • Data analysis and processing invoices
  • Assist with training of Group Managers, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers and other technical staff in project accounting processes
  • Proactively review pre-developed monitoring analytical tools to provide PMs, and GMs with data for gaps in target goals for reporting purposes
  • Conduct required analysis for assigned groups and projects to identify errors and ensure accurate revenue recognition and WIP management
  • Become technical expert for clients or client types that are complex and/or have specialized requirements

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance role
  • Familiarity with Accounting software
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Initiative and attention to detail with the capability of working independently
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or other related field (preferred)
  • Accounting experience working in the AEC industry (preferred)
