About the role

  • Construction Manager overseeing dam rehabilitation projects at Freese and Nichols. Managing construction contracts and collaborating with design teams for compliance and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Act as construction manager for a dam rehabilitation project
  • Administer the construction contract by managing, observing, and reporting on ongoing construction
  • Manage the observation and inspection of ongoing construction work including material sampling and testing
  • Review contractor’s work for compliance with contract documents
  • Lead the development and management of change/field orders, updates to construction schedule, submittals, RFI, claims, pay requests, construction meetings and closeout processes
  • Communicate with contractor about non-conforming work
  • Collaborate with design teams to facilitate responses to RFIs and submittals
  • Conduct pre-bid and pre-construction conferences
  • Oversee field staff and the execution of their daily work

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in dam construction and/or similar heavy construction
  • Fully proficient in project management information systems (e.g. e-Builder, Buzzsaw, Site Manager, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Preferred EIT, CMIT, or similar certifications
