About the role
- Thesis on software development for robust signal processing of optical measurement data at Fraunhofer Institute. Focusing on structured C++ code implementation for optical coherence tomography.
Responsibilities
- Implementation of structured, well-maintainable code in a software library for OCT measurements in C++
- Implementation and optimization of efficient signal processing algorithms for OCT measurement data
- Development of tests (e.g., unit tests) and example applications to validate the algorithms
- Performing selected measurements on OCT systems and analyzing the data to evaluate your implementations
Requirements
- You are studying Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computational Engineering Science, Automation Engineering, or a comparable field
- Good knowledge of at least one object-oriented programming language, ideally C++
- Basic knowledge in signal processing and frequency analysis (e.g., Fourier transforms, filtering) is an advantage
- Initial experience with version control using Git is desirable
- You place importance on clean, readable, and documented code as well as on a structured, testable implementation
- Independent working style and enjoyment of interdisciplinary teamwork
- Good language skills in German and/or English
