About the role

  • Power BI Developer specializing in GCP BigQuery to drive data visualization initiatives. Collaborating with analytics team for high-performance insights.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, interactive Power BI Semantic Model, reports and dashboards that meet business requirements and provide actionable insights.
  • Develop robust data models within Power BI, including complex DAX calculations, M-Query transformations, and optimized relationships.
  • Implement best practices for Power BI report performance tuning, ensuring fast and efficient data rendering.
  • Manage and administer Power BI workspaces, datasets, and security roles on Power BI Service.
  • Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and effective data visualizations.
  • Understand and apply BigQuery best practices for cost optimization, query performance, partitioning, and clustering.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all BigQuery data sources used for reporting.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and other development teams to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Conduct user training and provide ongoing support for Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our BI and data ecosystem.
  • Adhere to data governance policies and security standards for data access and reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • 5+ years of total experience in Business Intelligence development, with a strong focus on Power BI.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Report Builder including advanced DAX, M-Query, and data modelling techniques in Star and Snowflake Schema.
  • Extensive experience with Power BI Service (publishing, security, administration, gateway configuration).
  • Strong expertise in SQL, with specific hands-on experience writing complex, optimized queries in Google BigQuery.
  • Solid understanding of GCP BigQuery architecture, including concepts like tables, views, materialize views, partitioning, clustering.
  • Proven ability to connect Power BI to various data sources, especially BigQuery, and optimize data refresh processes.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and dimensional modelling.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Familiarity with GCP-native service Dataflow and Python is plus.
