About the role

  • Extended Reality Engineer developing XR applications for effective collaboration and visualization support at Ford Motor Company. Integrating solutions with visualization software and maintaining data translation pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Design experiences, interactions, and applications that support effective collaboration within immersive environments
  • Develop and support methodologies for effective integration, visualization, and dissemination of 3D data sources
  • Stay current with immersive technology and software development trends
  • Develop engineering and technical documentation
  • Lead the development and prototyping of hardware and software-based solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Game Design/Development, or a similar field
  • Minimum 2 years of professional/academic software development or engineering experience
  • Programming generalist, with experience in some/all the following: C#, C++, JS, Python, VBA
  • Team-based software development, troubleshooting, and deployment
  • Extended Reality (XR) application development
  • Knowledge of CAD programs and data translation services
  • Demonstrate superb communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Comfortable with communicating at all levels in the company
  • Extensive knowledge of Unreal with Blueprinting experience

  • WebGL
  • Arduino/Microcontrollers
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD applications, primarily CATIA
  • Familiarity with PLM applications
  • Familiarity with data translation software such as PiXYZ and Theorem
  • Game engine performance optimization – 3D data decimation, LODs, data culling, etc.
  • Graphics programming – rendering, shader scripting, OpenGL, etc.
  • Have operated 3D printers and similar equipment
  • Have Unity experience.
