About the role

  • Chassis Controls System Engineer responsible for system-level requirements and software for brakes, steering, and suspension in electric vehicles. Join Ford’s EV team working towards a sustainable future.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for development and refinement of system-level requirements, quality documents and validation test cases for Chassis Controls, delivering software for brakes, steering and suspension.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in system engineering including experience with System V, Functional decomposition, design analysis, Concept, Logical and technology level requirements development, System integration and FMA analysis.
  • Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mechanical Engineering (even better).
  • Experience in chassis systems; steering, brakes, suspension.
  • Experience with SysML / MagicDraw.
  • Troubleshooting experience with electromechanical systems.
  • Experience with Functional Safety (ISO26262) and Failure Mode Avoidance.
  • Feature Systems Process knowledge.
  • Verification proficiency (e.g. design verification methods, data acquisition/analysis, hardware-in-the-loop, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal and project management skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and take initiative.
