About the role

  • Production Engineer overseeing CNC programming and machine maintenance in Santiago, Chile. Focusing on Lean, Six Sigma methodologies to improve manufacturing efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Program all CNC machines using the MISys/Sprint system and ensure program availability for new products and customer requirements.
  • Manage the maintenance of machine tools at the Santiago plant.
  • Research and prepare proposals for capital projects and equipment, justify investments, prepare expenditure requests, coordinate acquisitions and installations, and ensure that objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing supervisors to achieve productivity and efficiency goals.
  • Specify and procure industrial supplies and tools that reduce costs and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Maintain availability of tools, fixtures, and resources required to meet production demand.
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues, minimizing delays in production scheduling.
  • Participate in the development of the manufacturing strategic plan and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Track the status of assigned projects and related expenditures, ensuring on‑time and on‑budget completion.
  • Stay updated on new tools, methods, and technologies applicable to machining, recommending innovative solutions when feasible.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations (OSHA) and environmental policies.
  • Promote a collaborative, respectful, and culturally aligned work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of metal machining, machine tools, and CNC programming.
  • Experience with the MISys/Sprint system (or willingness to learn quickly).
  • Intermediate–advanced English proficiency, required for communication with international suppliers (U.S. and China).
  • Availability to work overtime based on operational needs.
  • Residency in Santiago (relocation is not considered).
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or production environments.
  • Experience or interest in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, safety standards, technical instructions, and procedures.
  • Ability to collect data, analyze problems, and propose technical solutions.
  • Knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, statistics, and process analysis.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset, responsibility, and strong sense of urgency.
