About the role

  • Network Administrator managing architecture and security for robust network environments. Collaborating closely on IT-Security projects with a focus on innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, designing and building high-performance network environments (switching, routing, LAN, WLAN, VPN)
  • Designing, configuring and operating modern next-generation firewalls (e.g. Sophos XGS)
  • Implementing security standards such as hardening, Zero Trust, port security, NAC and RBAC
  • Administering heterogeneous Windows and Linux server environments, Active Directory, and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, DataCore)
  • Planning, site survey and operation of professional WLAN infrastructures (e.g. Aruba Central)
  • Proactive monitoring as well as analysis and remediation of complex network and infrastructure incidents (2nd/3rd level)
  • Creating clear system and project documentation as well as structured handovers to operational IT
  • Close coordination with project management and sales, and technical consulting for customers

Requirements

  • Completed technical training (e.g. IT specialist), degree in IT or equivalent qualification
  • Several years of practical experience in IT security & firewall operations (2nd/3rd level), ideally with Sophos XGS
  • Solid knowledge in network administration (switching, routing, VLAN), experience with Aruba Central preferred
  • Experience in server administration (Windows Server, AD) and virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)
  • Experienced in professional WLAN management and AP concepts
  • Analytical, structured, independent and quality-oriented
  • Confident, service-oriented manner interacting with customers and colleagues; very good German and good English skills
  • Enjoy working in diverse customer environments and holding a class B driving license
  • Motivated to continuously advance through training and certifications (e.g. Sophos XGS, Aruba Central, Microsoft) and to drive new topics forward
