- High Performance Computing Administrator providing operational support for HPC environment at Gulfstream Aerospace. Managing HPC clusters and user support in Scientific Computing.
Responsibilities
- Assists with the day-to-day operations of production HPC clusters
- Troubleshoots and maintains the Infiniband network
- Assists end users running applications on the HPC cluster(s)
- Manage, maintain, monitor, and control interactive and batch processes
- Complete batch processing and backups in the correct sequence
- Perform proactive failure trend analysis and root cause analysis for all system failures
- Monitor, verify, and suggest appropriate adjustments to support proper application executions
- Provide technical solutions that meet the performance and processing objectives
- Follow upgrade plans to ensure compliance with corporate policies
- Provide support during data center upgrades and outages
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related curriculum
- 2 years experience required in HPC or scientific computing environment
- Linux Competency: Installation, configuration, command-line proficiency, and package management
- Scripting Experience: Ability to script in Bash, Python, Perl, or other similar languages
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Teams, or similar applications
- Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware failures
- Familiarity with enterprise infrastructure tools: DNS, DHCP, PXE
- Familiarity with HPC Storage systems: Lustre, VAST, FlashArray, etc.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms: VMWare, HyperV, ProxMox, etc.
- Familiarity with networking concepts and hardware platforms: Cisco, Arista, etc.
- Familiarity with vulnerability scanning and compliance standards: CIS, STIG, etc.
