About the role

• Technical Project Manager leading battery storage and grid connection projects at FION Energy in Berlin. Collaborating with clients and ensuring project success from signing to commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Project management: Lead projects from contract signature to commissioning — manage schedule, quality and costs, and act as the central point of contact for the client.
• Technical implementation: Coordinate installation, grid connection and integration of the storage system with electrical contractors, manufacturers and client teams.
• Understand and work with single-line diagrams (SLD); ensure technical requirements (connection concept, protection, safety) are met.
• Prepare and submit applications to grid operators and metering point operators.
• Actively manage queries from the grid operator and consolidate technical response packages.
• Coordinate compliance documentation with partners according to relevant standards (e.g., VDE-AR-N 4105/4110).
• Collect approvals, test reports and certificates up to commissioning.
• Identify technical risks early, provide clear go/no‑go decisions and find pragmatic solutions.
• Keep customers informed transparently — your goal: turn projects into reference clients.
• Develop checklists, templates and simple standards from projects to accelerate future projects.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in technical project management or project execution in energy/building services, PV/storage projects or industrial electrical engineering
• Degree in Electrical/Energy Engineering, Electrical Power Systems or Industrial Engineering with an energy focus OR certified technician/master electrician in electrical engineering with relevant project manager experience
• Good understanding of electrical infrastructure in commercial/industrial environments (low voltage with interface to medium voltage including switchgear, protection, safety)
• Experience collaborating with grid or metering point operators and basic understanding of grid connection processes (e.g., VDE-AR-N 4105/4110)
• Confident reading of single-line diagrams (SLD) and technical specifications; ideally first exposure to protection concepts/connection design
• Structured, self-directed working style — able to manage multiple projects in parallel and keep deadlines in view
• Strong customer orientation: you enjoy direct customer contact and consider customer satisfaction part of your technical role
• Very good German (C1) and good English for internal coordination
