About the role

  • Data Governance Specialist ensuring accuracy and reliability in regulatory datasets at FCA. Implementing best practices, performing data analysis, and building dashboards.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and embed data quality best practices to ensure accuracy and reliability in regulatory datasets, strengthening compliance and stakeholder trust
  • Perform targeted data analysis to identify root causes of data issues, enabling timely remediation and reducing operational risk
  • Develop and maintain robust data management processes using industry governance standards to enhance resilience and data integrity
  • Design and sustain data quality frameworks for monitoring and control, empowering strategic decision-making with reliable insights
  • Produce actionable MI and benchmarking reports that highlight performance and trends, driving continuous improvement and competitive advantage
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external regulators to address shared data challenges, promoting a unified approach to supervision and policy development
  • Build automated dashboards and monitoring tools with Python, SQL, and Tableau to detect anomalies and trigger real-time remediation workflows, increasing efficiency

Requirements

  • Prior experience in Data Quality tooling and techniques in large organisations
  • Prior experience of data profiling and cleansing methods and tools
  • Strong understanding and practical experience of Data Quality concepts including business rules, Data Quality dimensions, metrics, profiling and remediation
  • Proven experience in wholesale markets or financial services delivering tailored data insights
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage at all levels and present credible findings to achieve positive outcomes
  • Skilled in producing concise and persuasive written outputs and clearly communicating complex issues verbally in an accessible manner
  • Experienced in delivering Data Governance artefacts such as data dictionaries, business glossaries and lineage documentation
  • Proficient in troubleshooting data issues and providing effective root cause solutions
  • Capable of designing and delivering Data Quality dashboards
