About the role
- Junior Transportation Designer at EXP supporting transportation engineering projects across Ontario. Collaborating with a team and gaining foundational skills in transportation planning and traffic engineering.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with transportation planning and traffic operations analyses, including traffic impact studies for land development projects
- Helping prepare technical reports, figures, and presentations under the guidance of senior engineers and technologists
- Supporting project coordination tasks such as scheduling, data collection, documentation, and quality checks
- Participating in meetings and presentations with internal team members and occasionally with municipal partners (with support and mentorship)
Requirements
- A Degree or Advanced Diploma in Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (recent graduates encouraged to apply)
- Interest in developing skills in transportation planning, traffic operations, and transportation design
- Familiarity with (or interest in learning) traffic and transportation software such as Synchro, VISSIM, Aimsun, or EMME
- Basic knowledge on design software such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or Civil 3D
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
- A collaborative attitude and strong interpersonal skills focused on client service and teamwork
- Valid Ontario driver’s license (G2 or higher) is required for occasional site visits
- Membership or interest in joining ITE Canada is considered an asset
