About the role
- Senior Consultant advising telecommunications clients on fraud risk strategy and operations. Focusing on policy review and stakeholder engagement with hybrid work location.
Responsibilities
- Assess fraud operations processes, controls, case management, and monitoring effectiveness, ensuring compliance with internal policies and standardization across business units
- Develop structured recommendations to improve operational effectiveness and loss prevention, leveraging internal and external fraud detection and decisioning tools and platforms (e.g., Feedzai, Featurespace)
- Create executive-ready storylines and presentations to highlight operational performance and process improvement and harmonization opportunities
- Serve as a subject matter expert to drive client outcomes and strengthen EXL’s industry and functional capabilities
Requirements
- Bachelors / Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Engineering or a related quantitative field from a top-tier university, or an MBA with relevant domain experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Fraud Risk Strategy and/or Operations, preferably in Strategy or Consulting roles
- Deep domain understanding of industry standard processes across the fraud lifecycle including application, transaction, merchant, and dispute/chargeback management
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong client engagement and consulting skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders by creating compelling storylines
- Excellent communication, presentation and storytelling skills with a data-driven orientation, and comfort operating in fast-evolving, ambiguous environments
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fraud and security technologies, such as Feedzai and Feature Space
- Relevant certifications in Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, or Risk Management (e.g., CFE, FRM, PRM) are a plus
- Prior consulting or advisory experience in telecom or adjacent industries
- Experience operating in a Second Line of Defense (2LoD) or policy / risk oversight role
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, telecom consumer protection regulations) is a plus
- Working knowledge of data visualization software such as Tableau, Power BI and Looker
