Senior Consultant advising on Credit & Fraud Risk strategies and operations in Telecommunications. Focused on stakeholder engagement and policy review across client segments.
Responsibilities
Review the effectiveness of credit operations processes, controls, and workflows, ensuring adherence to credit risk policies and standardization across business units
Develop recommendations to enhance efficiency, control effectiveness, and process scalability, leveraging internal reporting dashboards and credit platforms (e.g. FICO, Experian suites)
Create executive-ready storylines and presentations to highlight operational performance and process improvement and harmonization opportunities
Provide subject matter expertise to drive client outcomes and strengthen EXL’s industry and functional capabilities
Requirements
Bachelors / Masters degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Engineering or a related quantitative field from a top-tier university, or an MBA with relevant domain experience
Minimum 4 years of experience in Credit Risk Strategy and/or Operations, preferably in Strategy or Consulting roles
Deep domain understanding of industry standard processes across the credit lifecycle including application, transaction, merchant, and dispute/chargeback management
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Strong client engagement and consulting skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders by creating compelling storylines
Excellent communication, presentation and storytelling skills with a data-driven orientation, and comfort operating in fast-evolving, ambiguous environments.
**Preferred Qualifications**
Experience with leading industry standard credit platforms (e.g. FICO, Experian suites)
Relevant certifications in Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, or Risk Management (e.g., CFE, FRM, PRM) are a plus
Prior consulting or advisory experience in telecom or adjacent industries
Experience operating in a First or Second Line of Defense (2LoD) or policy / risk oversight role
Familiarity with relevant regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR, telecom consumer protection regulations) is a plus
Working knowledge of data visualization software such as Tableau, Power BI and Looker
