Consultant II specializing in Microsoft Power BI reporting and data analysis. Collaborating with stakeholders to design interactive dashboards and ensure data accuracy at EXL.
Responsibilities
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI (Desktop & Service) for reporting, data analysis, and visualization
Design, develop, and deploy interactive, user-friendly, and visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports
Connect to multiple data sources and perform efficient data modeling using best practices
Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data from relational databases
Develop and optimize data models using DAX (calculated columns, measures, KPIs, performance metrics)
Perform data cleansing, transformation, and integration using Power Query (M Language)
Manage scheduled data refreshes, monitor refresh failures, and resolve related issues
Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) to manage user access and ensure data security
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications
Ensure data accuracy, consistency, governance, security, and performance optimization of reports
Maintain proper documentation for dashboards, reports, data models, and development workflows
Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies, performance bottlenecks, and report-related issues
Demonstrate excellent analytical thinking, organizational skills, prioritization ability, and strong verbal/written communication skills
Requirements
Bachelor's/Master's in any stream 2-5 years
Good to Have - Prior experience in the Banking or Financial Services domain
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
Understanding of Data Warehousing concepts (ETL processes, Star/Snowflake schema, Fact & Dimension tables)
Exposure to dashboard wireframing and UI/UX best practices
