About the role
- Consultant II specializing in Microsoft Power BI reporting and data analysis. Collaborating with stakeholders to design interactive dashboards and ensure data accuracy at EXL.
Responsibilities
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI (Desktop & Service) for reporting, data analysis, and visualization
- Design, develop, and deploy interactive, user-friendly, and visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports
- Connect to multiple data sources and perform efficient data modeling using best practices
- Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and validate data from relational databases
- Develop and optimize data models using DAX (calculated columns, measures, KPIs, performance metrics)
- Perform data cleansing, transformation, and integration using Power Query (M Language)
- Manage scheduled data refreshes, monitor refresh failures, and resolve related issues
- Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) to manage user access and ensure data security
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, governance, security, and performance optimization of reports
- Maintain proper documentation for dashboards, reports, data models, and development workflows
- Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies, performance bottlenecks, and report-related issues
- Demonstrate excellent analytical thinking, organizational skills, prioritization ability, and strong verbal/written communication skills
Requirements
- Bachelor's/Master's in any stream 2-5 years
- Good to Have - Prior experience in the Banking or Financial Services domain
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
- Understanding of Data Warehousing concepts (ETL processes, Star/Snowflake schema, Fact & Dimension tables)
- Exposure to dashboard wireframing and UI/UX best practices
