About the role
- Technical Business Analyst focusing on developing market data models and supporting onboarding of data venues at Exegy. Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure analysis and documentation are effectively managed.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance Exegy Market Data Model to include new technologies and asset classes
- Support the development and onboarding of all new market data venues
- Define and document standard market data normalization practices for key trading events, principles, and governance
- Develop processes and tools to enhance the quality and efficiency of market data management within Exegy
- Verify and validate new and existing feed data model designs
- Identify ways to automate testing and verification of market data feed normalization and behavior
- Assist with troubleshooting data normalization defects
- Identify deficiencies in the Exegy Market Data Model
- Support Customer Success and Operations teams with market data related inquiries and issues
- Proactively plan for the adaptation of the Exegy Market Data Model to regulatory and mandated changes in the marketplace
- Analyze financial market data to fulfill responsibilities as listed above
- Work with key stakeholders across the business (i.e. Development, QA, Operations and Product Management)
- Create, update, and publish market data feed documentation
Requirements
- BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or relevant industry experience
- 1 to 2 years experience in software development, in C/C++ preferred
- Experience with scripting languages, Python preferred
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems (RedHat, CentOS, SUSE Linux)
- Previous experience in a data analytics role or using data analytics tools
- Experience working with development and QA teams
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical abilities
- Effective communication – good oral and written interpersonal skills adequate for dealing & communicating clearly with people across all levels of the organization
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodology
- Experience with JIRA/Confluence
- Experience with real-time financial market data preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Microsoft Excel
