About the role

  • EMV Engineer focusing on software and mechatronics for Mercedes-Benz Special Trucks. Responsible for optimizing vehicle electromagnetic compatibility and collaborating with development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Optimization and testing of electromagnetic compatibility for products (Zetros, Actros, Unimog, …), equipment and systems
  • Development and implementation of EMC-compliant design measures in close cooperation with hardware and system development
  • Preparation of EMC test plans, test reports and documentation
  • Coordination with external test laboratories and execution of internal pre-tests
  • Advising internal departments on EMC-related questions
  • Independent execution and supervision of EMC measurements and approval tests according to ECE and military standards
  • Development and implementation of interference suppression concepts in close cooperation with development departments, particularly to meet military norms and standards
  • Definition, organization and documentation of test benches and test environments in accordance with applicable standards and regulations (e.g. CE, VDE, MIL, etc.)
  • Analysis, presentation and communication of measurement results and advising internal and external partners in tender projects
  • Technical documentation and ensuring long-term functional reliability
  • Design and planning of relevant mechatronic functions and features in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and development divisions
  • Coordination and alignment of application data sets with component and vehicle divisions and implementation on the vehicle
  • Development and application of mechatronic functions for the Mercedes‑Benz Special Truck model series
  • Planning, execution and evaluation of stationary and dynamic test trials in road tests, on test benches and at customer sites

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable qualification
  • Solid knowledge of EMC; several years of experience in measurement and test technology is an advantage
  • Experience working with EMC measurement equipment and software
  • Confident handling of relevant tools and standards (e.g. DOORS, Excel, VDE, CE, ARP4754, RTCA-DO160, MIL)
  • Practical experience or prior involvement in functional and/or software development
  • Knowledge of software development tools (Matlab/Simulink, requirements/change management, CAN tools, …) is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of EE components, functions and systems of the Mercedes‑Benz Trucks series (functional and system understanding, CEEA architecture)
  • Good German and English language skills
  • Independent, structured way of working combined with strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Willingness to learn and enthusiasm for software and system development
  • Self-directed, solution- and result-oriented work, strong self-organization
  • Team orientation, reliability and good communication skills
  • Willingness to travel for testing and workshops (national/international)
  • Confident and persuasive presence in front of decision-making bodies and development partners
