About the role
- Lead Engineer responsible for substation design, development, and maintenance at Eversource Energy. Overseeing engineering teams and ensuring system safety and reliability standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development, expansion, planning, design, maintenance and operation of the system and its equipment
- Coordinates the evaluation of system failures and appropriate resolutions
- Ensures that the Eversource transmission and distribution systems are designed to high quality standards
- Shares accountability with peers in the strategy, development, and design of the organization’s Life Cycle Plan
- Supervises, assigns, prioritizes and directs the work performed by other Engineers and staff
- Provides technical support and direction to operating areas relative to system priorities, engineering guidelines, and operating decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required
- Minimum of eight (8) years in the technical, operational, or engineering aspects of the electrical utility industry
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of utility power systems is preferred
- Ability to independently develop, present and execute new projects through collaborations with other departments
- Familiarity with power related software is preferred
