About the role
- Financial Analyst in charge of financial analysis and budget performance for Eversource’s electric operations. Collaborating with field leaders to drive successful investment decisions and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Financial analysis of expense and capital projects.
- Prepares cost/benefit analysis for spending decisions.
- Development of financial models related to budgets or forecasts.
- Preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Prepares, monitors, and reports Expense and Capital expenditures against budget and forecast.
- Makes recommendations for course corrections.
- Prepares special reports and studies, as requested.
- Interacts with personnel within and outside the organization including senior management and various corporate organizations.
- On call Storm Duty assignment as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, related discipline or equivalent experience
- Advanced degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting preferred.
- Three (3) plus years related work involving extensive exposure to financial analysis or accounting.
- Experience with operational finance preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively work with multiple levels of management.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to foster teamwork.
- Familiarity with accounting and reporting systems (such as PowerPlan, Cognos/TM1).
- Demonstrated ability to use the Microsoft Suite of applications (Excel, PowerPoint).
