About the role

  • Release Train Engineer facilitating Agile Release Train events for eSimplicity, collaborating to deliver value and coach teams. Driving relentless improvement in scaling Agile practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART).
  • Facilitate the ART events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement.
  • Provide leadership and coaching in the Scaled Agile Framework and Agile principles.
  • Lead the Agile Release Train, and is responsible for planning, execution, and problem resolution.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management of assigned team members, including setting clear expectations, coaching for performance, conducting regular check-ins, and supporting professional development.
  • Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/Engineering.
  • Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs).
  • Facilitate the PI planning event and PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process that drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning events.
  • Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency.
  • Facilitate periodic synchronization events, including the ART sync.
  • Facilitate System Demos.
  • Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and help them improve.
  • Assist in tracking the execution of features and capabilities.
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools, such as the Program Kanban and other information radiators.
  • Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the practices associated with DevOps and Release on Demand in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline.
  • Help manage risks and dependencies; Escalate and track impediments.
  • Provide input to address critical bottlenecks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated grasp of how to scale Lean and Agile practices, including the challenges associated with facilitating and continuously aligning a large development program.
  • Experience as an RTE
  • Certified SAFe® Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification
  • Familiar with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
  • Experience working with development and test teams
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust; residing in the United States
