About the role
- Release Train Engineer facilitating Agile Release Train events for eSimplicity, collaborating to deliver value and coach teams. Driving relentless improvement in scaling Agile practices across the organization.
Responsibilities
- The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART).
- Facilitate the ART events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value.
- Communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement.
- Provide leadership and coaching in the Scaled Agile Framework and Agile principles.
- Lead the Agile Release Train, and is responsible for planning, execution, and problem resolution.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and management of assigned team members, including setting clear expectations, coaching for performance, conducting regular check-ins, and supporting professional development.
- Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/Engineering.
- Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs).
- Facilitate the PI planning event and PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process that drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning events.
- Summarize Team PI Objectives into Program PI Objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency.
- Facilitate periodic synchronization events, including the ART sync.
- Facilitate System Demos.
- Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and help them improve.
- Assist in tracking the execution of features and capabilities.
- Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools, such as the Program Kanban and other information radiators.
- Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the practices associated with DevOps and Release on Demand in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline.
- Help manage risks and dependencies; Escalate and track impediments.
- Provide input to address critical bottlenecks.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
- Demonstrated grasp of how to scale Lean and Agile practices, including the challenges associated with facilitating and continuously aligning a large development program.
- Experience as an RTE
- Certified SAFe® Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification
- Familiar with Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
- Experience working with development and test teams
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust; residing in the United States
