About the role
- Project Engineer delivering engineering projects in support of ESB’s strategic objectives. Collaborating with teams to ensure technical specifications are met and managing contractor engagements.
Responsibilities
- Support the project manager(s) in the successful delivery of the projects in their totality in compliance with all safety standards
- Support the management of project interfaces such as procurement (including tender negotiations), design, free issue material, power cables, telecoms etc
- Support Design and Engineering teams with inspections of plant and materials and works on site, to ensure technical specifications are met and monitor progress against the contract
- Contractor engagement including the monitoring of contractor progress and validation of progress payments, providing monthly progress reports and managing schedules
- Preparation / coordination of technical schedules, price schedules and other documents required to complete packs of enquiry documents, against which tenderers will submit proposals
Requirements
- Three or more years’ experience
- A proven track record in delivering engineering projects and project management
- Experience dealing with construction contractors to ensure that they deliver to specified requirements
- Either 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential
- Good knowledge of the PSDP/CDMC and PSCS processes
- Competent understanding of key elements of construction management
- Hold a full driving license and have access to a car
