About the role
- Accountant role in ESB's Finance Operations focusing on consolidation, audit processes, and stakeholder engagement. Requires strong accounting skills and the ability to deliver improvements in financial processes.
Responsibilities
- Period close, consolidation and reconciliation activities at Group and Business Unit level
- Preparation of annual statutory financial statements and ESB Group annual and interim report
- Co-ordination of the annual audit process, engagement with external auditors and delivery of outputs to key internal and external stakeholders as required
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and customers including corporate teams, financial planning & analysis team, business units and external auditors
- Providing technical accounting support to Corporate and Business Units
- Monitoring accounting (IFRS), technical and commercial developments and advising on their impact on the financial close of the Group
- Delivery of continuous improvement initiatives and various projects within the Accounting & Reporting function
Requirements
- Newly qualified/1+ year PQE with recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA)
- High level of technical accounting competency and strong analytical skills
- Highly motivated – able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong IT skills - knowledge of SAP/S4 Hana would be preferable
