About the role

  • Communications Fellow assisting with social media and design for the ELM Action Fund in Boston. Focused on launching and managing Instagram while engaging with environmental communications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with creating social media captions for posts on LinkedIn, Bluesky, and Facebook
  • Play a major role in supporting the launch and management of ELM Action Fund’s Instagram account
  • Create, schedule, and publish Instagram content including posts, Stories, and Reels
  • Capture and edit short-form video content for Instagram Reels
  • Assist in writing scripts and storyboarding for Instagram video content
  • Track and analyze Instagram performance metrics
  • Research and incorporate new trends in marketing and design innovation
  • Assist with expanding ELM and the ELM Action Fund’s audience segmentation
  • Assist with writing projects as needed
  • Design flyers, graphics, and videos for social media, website, and event invitations
  • Assist in maintaining the up-to-date content and design of our Wordpress websites
  • Update/track data in our EveryAction email marketing system
  • Track the growth of follower counts across social media platforms
  • Attend ELM events as needed and support event logistics
  • Support elections work as needed

Requirements

  • Strong communication, social media, and design skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Interest in environmental and/or nonprofit communications
  • Experience with Instagram management, including creating Reels, Stories, and in-feed posts
  • Experience with Canva and video capturing/editing
  • Experience with mass email platforms is strongly preferred
