About the role
- Financial Navigator guiding patients through financial processes during and after their healthcare stay. Responsible for patient education and support in navigating financial services at the facility.
Responsibilities
- Guide patients through their financial journey during their stay at the facility and immediately post discharge
- Serve as an onsite point person for the patient to reduce confusion between the patient and the separate functional areas of financial services
- Triage financial questions and provide patient education
- Perform onsite patient rounding, answering customer service calls, and facilitating process improvement projects for the patient’s financial journey
Requirements
- 3-5 years' experience in multiple areas of the revenue cycle preferred
- Prior customer service and/or hospital experience is a plus
- High School diploma/GED required
- Required Certification: HFMA Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) within 9 months of hire
- Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent experience in Healthcare Management / Administration preferred
