About the role

  • Support engineer providing technical assistance to Emerson's customer installations. Involves project management, system configuration, and field support for industrial automation solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide qualified technical support to the customer's installed base, ensuring customer satisfaction through execution of services and contracts according to the defined scope and budget.
  • Advise on the preparation and fulfillment of corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and provide technical advisory for interventions on Emerson Machine Automation Solutions systems (formerly GE Automation & Controls);
  • Collect data, prepare flowcharts, diagrams, calculation documentation and study reports aimed at equipment selection, materials, project execution or adoption of the most economical solution to resolve issues in existing industrial automation installations;
  • Prepare basic design documents including Technical Procedures, Construction and Assembly Descriptive Reports, and Descriptive Reports for contracting detailed engineering projects, in accordance with PETROBRAS standards;
  • Analyze projects and technical studies from other companies, as well as issue Technical Opinions (PATEC) on equipment and services involving Emerson equipment;
  • Configure, program and update (e.g., software, ladder logic, hardware, firmware, etc.) Emerson Automation Systems in PETROBRAS production facilities;
  • Manage, monitor and provide support for GE Digital supervisory systems;
  • Prepare, develop and execute migration projects for systems with discontinued Emerson equipment;
  • Perform technical audits on manufacturer equipment and applications, as well as manage and plan spares and inventory for Emerson Industrial Automation Systems;
  • Commission new technologies for Emerson Industrial Automation systems.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Electronic or Automation;
  • Minimum of 6 years proven experience in industrial automation, including at least 2 years in the oil & gas sector (offshore);
  • Ability to interpret specifications, programs and technical drawings of automation systems;
  • Advanced knowledge of the MS Office suite;
  • Knowledge of Emerson's product portfolio is desirable, such as PACSystems RX3i, VersaMax, QuickPanel+, Machine Edition, etc.;
  • Ability to specify, support and maintain, and design architectures for industrial automation networks involving switches, firewalls and industrial radios;
  • Availability to travel to visit customer facilities and offices;
  • Availability to work offshore on oil platforms in a 14 x 14 rotation;
  • Languages: Portuguese and advanced English.
