About the role
- Engineering Support Assistant supporting product development teams. Assisting Project Manager with milestones, logistics, and cross-functional coordination.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Project Manager in achieving project deadlines and milestones
- Communicates and collaborates with the entire project team to facilitate project goals and initiatives
- Identifies procurement needs and mitigates risks such as lead times and part availability
- Creates new part numbers and symbols for use in designs and maintains the Bill of Materials (BOM) for products in NI’s PLM (Product Lifecycle Management)
- Responsible for project logistics and maintaining accuracy and timeliness of manufacturing jobs
- Coordinates with cross-functional teams to ensure that deliverables are completed on time
- Follows-up and thoroughly tracks results of all assigned tasks
Requirements
- High School diploma (or GED equivalent)

- Exhibits initiative & persistence to overcome obstacles to meet project goals
- Works well in a team environment
- Follows existing processes and identifies and escalates any process deficiencies
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while adhering to respective deadlines
- Capable of learning and retaining technical information (required for part creation and BOM management)
- Ability to coordinate and work across groups/departments
- Thorough competence with Microsoft Office suite
- Experience supporting engineering groups in a corporate environment (preferred)
- Experience using Oracle (including Agile PLM and E-Business) (preferred)
