About the role
- Lead Developer managing a team in software architecture and development for ehotel AG's hotel booking platform. Ensure code quality and modern development practices while leading projects in Berlin.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical and organizational direction of an agile development team
- Actively contribute to software development (hands-on coding, code reviews, architectural decisions)
- Take responsibility for code quality, maintainability and the ongoing development of our software solutions
- Plan and manage development projects in close coordination with Product Management and company leadership
- Support the professional growth of the team through coaching, mentoring and knowledge transfer
- Introduce and ensure modern development standards, tools and processes (e.g. CI/CD, automated testing)
- Serve as the interface to other IT areas and external partners
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in software development, ideally with initial leadership experience
- Strong quality awareness and experience in code reviews and software architecture
- Excellent knowledge of Java and an IDE such as Eclipse, Spring Boot, REST services, microservices, PostgreSQL, Hibernate, Elasticsearch
- Web skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and MVC frameworks are a plus
- Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Strong communication skills, team spirit and a high degree of self-motivation
- Very good German and English language skills
